SSIMS: The Medical Chronicles” (SSIMSMC) is the official journal of Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, located in Junwani, Bhilai, C.G.“SSIMS: The Medical Chronicles” (SSIMSMC) is a peer-reviewed online multidisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing the field of medicine and healthcare.
Our journal provides a platform for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to share their latest findings, innovations, and best practices with the medical community.This multidisciplinary journal will commence publication in 2023.The journal will be published biannually in January and June. After undergoing the peer review process (details provided under Peer Review Process), articles will be processed within 45 days for suitability of publication or otherwise.
In the Submission Preparation Checklist:
- Ensure the submission is in English only.
- Confirm it has not been previously published or sent to another journal for consideration.
- Submit the file in Microsoft Word document format.
- Include URLs for references wherever available.
- Maintain single spacing, use a 12-point font, employ italics (except for URL addresses), and integrate all illustrations, figures, and tables within the text at appropriate points.
The text should adhere to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the "Instructions to Authors," accessible in the "Instructions to Authors" section.With a steadfast focus on evidence-based medicine, our aim is to promote the highest standards of patient care and improve health outcomes globally.

About Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences
The First Medical Institution in India to be named after Adi- Shri Shankaracharya and blessed by all present Jagadguru’s.
Chairman of SSIMS, Shri I.P. Mishra, an eminent scholar, has been instrumental in his contribution towards the field of education. His contributions have benefited numerous students in shaping their bright future and the community by providing selfless services through the healthcare sector.
SSIMS has been recognised for its teaching-learning achievements and received the "Twin City Education Excellence Award for Leading Private Medical Institute in C.G." by the Governor in 2022.

Instructions to Authors
Please read the instructions carefully and follow them.
Scope of the journal
SSIMS: The Medical Chronicles publishes papers describing original research in all areas of medical fields and educational research.
➢ Submission of contributions:
All submissions and correspondence should be addressed to The Editor, SSIMS: The Medical Chronicles Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Junwani Road, Bhilai, Durg, Chhattisgarh – 490020.
All articles submitted for publication are meant exclusively for publication in this journal and must be accompanied by a duly filled copyright form and sent to ssimsjournal@ssimsb.ac.in
➢ Financial Aid:
All vested interests must be declared by the authors e.g., Any financial aid received for the study or
for its presentation from all sources.
➢ Manuscripts:
• Manuscripts must be submitted in precise, concise, and easy-to-read English. • The number of authors should not exceed six.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically along with a duty-filled signed and scanned copyright form. They should be typed in the font: times new roman and in font-size: 12, only on one side of the A4 size paper with double spacing (space between two lines not less than 6 mm) and at least a 2.5 cm margin on all sides.
➢ Word limit:

Original article: Up to 3000 words (excluding abstract of 250 words and a maximum of 30
references).

Case report: Up to 1000 words (excluding abstract of 150 words and a maximum of 10
references).

Review article: Up to 4000 words (excluding abstract of 250 words and a maximum of 90
references).
➢ Title page: Should be on a separate sheet of paper and should include:

Title of the article.

Names and designations of all authors
-
Affiliations (name of department, institution, city, state and country)

The name, address, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
➢ Text (original article): The text should include the following:
• Word limit: Up to 3000 words (excluding abstract and a maximum of 20 references).
The abstract should be restricted to a summary of the important results and conclusions only without general statements. It should not exceed a maximum of 250 words and be on the first page without abbreviations and references. Up to 6 keywords should also be given at the end of the abstract.
Introduction: Define the reason for the study, the nature of the problem, and its relation to previous work, quoting the references by numbers within brackets in the order in which they are cited.
Materials and Methods: Include study design, study area, study participants, sampling technique, stats used, and methodology of study.
Results: Present the results in a logical sequence using appropriate, tables and figures without duplication.
Discussion: Distinguish clearly new information from previous findings, and speculation from fact. Problems arising out of the study may be identified, and relevant hypotheses may be generated. Indicate the conclusions that may be drawn and place them in the context of a critical appraisal of previous work.
Acknowledgement: Acknowledgement of those who have contributed substantially to the study.
Ethics: All research studies should confirm ethical principles as laid down in the Helsinki Declaration and it should be explicitly stated if permission of an IRB / human or animal ethics committee was taken.
References: This should be numbered in order of citation in the text at an appropriate place in brackets (e.g., 1) They must be complete in Vancouver format.
List all authors; if the number is seven or more, cite first six names followed by et al.
References must be given in the following format.

➢ Tables: Each table should be typed double spaced, on a separate sheet of paper, should carry a title and be serially numbered in Arabic numerals in the order of its first citation in the text.
Each column should have a short heading with units of measure, if applicable, in parenthesis. Explanatory matter should only be given in footnotes using a, b, c, ... as symbols sequentially. Statistical significance is to be given as a footnote to the tables.
➢ Figures (with Legend) and Photographs: To appear on separate pages and should be unmounted in black ink drawings of professional quality with clear lettering and numbered consecutively (I, II etc). Only standard symbols should be used for figures. They should have a brief legend. Statistical significance is to be given as a footnote to the figures. Photographs should be in coloured glossy prints and if black and white there should be a sharp contrast between black and white areas. They should be 8 x 13 cm in size. If applicable a linear scale should be incorporated in the photograph or magnification stated.
Matter given in a table must not be repeated as a figure.
➢ Case report:
Word limit: Up to 1000 words (excluding abstract of 150 words and a maximum of 10 references).
The case report should be arranged in the following order :- Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Case History, Discussion and References.
➢ Review article:
Word limit: Up to 4000 words (excluding abstract of 250 words and a maximum of 90 references).
